I wrote about this on The Jasmine Brand (click here to read my post) but I couldn’t really state my opinion like I can on my site. So, I HAD to repost with my two cents (yeah, you care LOL). I heard about the whole book release a few months ago so I wasn’t really surprised to see Phaedra following up with legal action. For those of you who don’t know, let me give you a little background information.
In March, VIBE published a story announcing that Angela Stanton (supposedly a former friend of Phaedra) was releasing a tell-all book about Phaedra’s criminal past called “Lies of a Real Housewife: Tell the Truth and Shame the Devil.” Now, regardless of if any of Stanton’s allegations are true or not, you have to admit that book title sholl (yes, sholl) is juicy!
Phaedra, who claims to be this “ultimate Southern Belle,” denies all of Stanton’s allegations and even goes so far to say that she never even had a friendship or relationship with this woman period. Maybe it’s just me, but Phaedra seems like the shady type. Especially after she couldn’t be straight up about her pregnancy and the tried to downplay Apollo’s criminal past.
Most of the time, women who date criminals end up participating (either voluntarily or involuntarily) in the crimes as well. Either to help cover them up or whatever the case may be. So in my opinion, these claims Stanton are making may not be as farfetched as some are trying to make them seem.
Stanton has been going in on Twitter about the lawsuit, practically retweeting every tweet that had something to do with it. Looks like she’s ready for everything to pop off! There’s no word yet from VIBE regarding the case.
Phaedra is suing VIBE for $30 million in damages, attorney fees and a published retraction. Good luck with that! I bet ‘ole NeNe is having a good time with this one.
