Many of us have had a hard time letting the late R&B singer Aaliyah go. At the height of her career, the beautiful and talented star was killed in a plane crash on Abaco Island in the Bahamas in August of 2001.
Aaliyah’s uncle and Blackground Records CEO Barry Hankerson says the movie has been put on hold, but the album is still a go. Hankerson explained to That Grape Juice that the movie is being put on hold because Aaliyah’s immediate family has not yet agreed to it.
Although there is a little controversy around the movie, the posthumous album currently being produced by Drake and his partner Noah “40” Shebib is still in the works.
