It’s About Time :: VH1 Cancels Jersey Shore

The sixth season of Jersey Shore, which airs on October 4, will be its last.

The show was MTV’s highest rated show with over 8.9 million views in its last season. I watched two seasons and while I wouldn’t consider myself a fan, I did enjoy the laughs.

The cast members seem to have already moved on to other ventures and shows. Jennifer “J Woww” Farley and Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi (who recently gave birth) have their own show, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is appearing on England’s “Big Brother” and DJ Pauly D also had his own show.

Ratings did drop for season five, but were still strong. MTV reportedly axed the show because the cast member’s contracts end after season six and to continue to reproduce the show would be very expensive considering their level of fame.

Will you miss Jersey Shore?
